Northeast Corner was created on 16-degree winter’s day, capturing a striking view of Mass Ave in Indianapolis. Building with abstract forms of architecture and vibrant color, the painting’s play of space brings the scene to life. The piece is featured in the Netflix series Maniac. It was also published in the New York Times with Emma Stone and Jonah Hill.
St. Elmo Southwest
4’x6’ Oil on canvas 2009
Historic foyer and painting
Painted over the months of autumn, St. Elmo Southwest looks over a borough of Chattanooga, TN. Observations of nature in southern appalachia (passion fruit flowers appearing in the lawn) merge with specific color notes and evident mark making to capture the neighborhood. The painting hangs in the foyer of a historic home in Indianapolis.
The Beckman Porch
3’x3’ Oil on panel 2012
The Beckman Porch was a commission to hang above the family’s fireplace. Merging perspectives of the back porch and front porch with visiting students, the painting is an analytic study of observed space and a family portrait.
Baptism
40.5”x30” Oil on canvas 2017
Painting displayed with antiques
A commission to interpret the fresco Baptism of the Neophytes by Masaccio (1401-1428), Baptism takes a contemporary view of what it would mean to experience one of the first baptisms in today’s culture and natural environment.
